Hello Fellow Amateurs;
It gives me great sadness to report that the Manitoulin Amateur Radio Club has lost another great member of our club today. Brenda Playter VA3TKH passed away today Monday 23 July 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. As President of the club I know I speak on behalf of all of you that our thoughts and prayers are with Bob Playter VE3TKH her husband and their whole family during this very sad and tragic time. Bob and Brenda have been long time members of the Manitoulin Amateur Radio Club attending and supporting many functions over the years until Brenda’s health precluded her from attending these functions. Brenda will be sadly missed within the club and all that knew her.
There are no details at this time as to if any services will be held as soon as we know anything we will advise. However, this coming Sunday 29 July 2018 on the VE3RMI Repeater at 10:00 am I will hold a memorial net in honour of Brenda I urge you all to check in with any comments, stories, or memories you wish to share of Brenda.
I want to thank Mike Maciuk VE3UKI and Jim McLean VE3LJM for advising of the first notifications and getting the word out.
Details to follow.

Tired of hearing the digital "noise" on RMI when it's in the C4FM mode? The repeater DOES transmit a CTCSS tone of 156.7hz while in FM mode, allowing you to set your tone squelch on your NON C4FM radio...when it is properly set, you will see the signal strength meter go over, but you will hear no digital squawk...
Not sure how to set tone squelch on your radio? Contact Rusty or Al... I am sure we can walk you thru it!
